When Disaster Strikes: Part 1

JOPLIN, MISSOURI

In 2011, the town of Joplin, Missouri was devastated by an F5 tornado the strongest imaginable. The storm destroyed St. John’s/Mercy Hospital, and devastated the community. The need to keep hospitals strong was made abundantly clear as hospital workers from St. John’s/Mercy and nearby Freeman Hospital helped their community in the wake of the tornado—on a day they were needed most.
