Susanna Cheung, known as the “matriarch” of her nursing unit, has spent nearly four decades caring for patients with her unique blend of compassion, kindness, and dependability. "If a patient trusts you, you can help them solve some of their problems," she says. “When I say I'm coming back in an hour, I will come back in an hour. And they expect to see me."
Susanna also brings joy to her patients through song. A frequent sidekick to the volunteer guitarist who visits the unit, she keeps her patients’ spirits high with songs like “Amazing Grace,” and of course, “Oh! Susanna.”
Thank you, Susanna, for your warm approach to care! Click here to read the full story at Hospital & Health Networks Magazine.
