Dr. Lon Butikofer

Dr. Butikofer, one of the first male orderlies in N.E. Iowa, has been CEO of Regional Medical Center in Manchester, Iowa for the past 25 years. He has also served as a volunteer Board Member for the Red Cross for over 30 years, and serves on the International Board managing Hospital Lumiere, a mountaintop Christian Hospital in Haiti.
Lon started out as one of the first male orderlies in N.E. Iowa. He grew up on a dairy farm and was married. He raised a family, while attaining college as an EMT, LPN, ADN, RN, BSN, MSN, in nursing. He then went on to complete his Doctorate of Philosophy in Healthcare Administration with an emphasis on Hospital Administration, International Healthcare, and Pediatric and Young Adult Immunosuppressive Clinical Practice.
His clinical experience was in Emergency, Surgery, Critical Care, Management, and Nursing Administration. He has also held multiple professorships in Nursing, Management, Psychology, and International Healthcare. He has served as a Nursing Administrator which transitioned into Hospital Administration.
He has been the CEO for Regional Medical Center in Manchester, Iowa for over 25 years. He has been a volunteer Board Member for the American Red Cross for over 30 years. In addition, he serves on an International Board which manages Hospital Lumiere, a mountain top Christian Hospital in Southern Haiti.
